Ildefonso Martín Burguillo is a Madrid-based painter. Born in Madrid in 1955, he trained in drawing at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios and later at Estudio Soto Mesa. His work is figurative and realist, drawing on Pop Art and advertising to look at consumer culture with a critical, sometimes ironic eye. He taught drawing and painting in Madrid for a decade before focusing on his studio practice, and has exhibited widely in Spain as well as in Seoul, Shanghai, Paris, and the United States.
